objectiveS

The workshop is for professionals (engineers and geologists), managers and employees from public institutions wishing to gain a better knowledge on hydrogeologic risk issues with particular regard to debris flow phenomena. Lecturers, including academic professors as well as highly qualified professionals and public managers, shall provide a multidisciplinary perspective on different levels: from the investigation of the general framework including theoretical and practical aspects of hydrogeologic risk mitigation techniques to river basin planning methodologies and specific case studies and modelling tools: hydrologic rainfall-runoff models for flood prediction, magnitude evaluation, hazard and risk characterization thresholds, hydraulic and geomorphologic analyses as well as mitigation and flood control structures design and real time hydrogeologic hazard emergency management.
